  James Baker
Vice President, Analytics

Jim leads the BasePoint Analytics team of scientists in developing the predictive models and analytics driving all of our solutions. He directs the design and development of all of the analytics powering the FraudMark® solutions, as well as the analytic models for BrokerWatch® service and BasePoint EPD™ alert. Prior to joining BasePoint, Jim was the Director of Modeling for Falcon, Fraud Predictor and RiskFinder worldwide in the fraud modeling group of HNC Software/Fair, Isaac. During his more than 8 years in the Falcon organization, Jim personally developed a number of custom and consortium models for clients worldwide. He designed and developed the first Falcon model that scored signature debit bankcards, and was responsible for planning, research and designing the development, testing, deployment and post-installation support of the US Falcon Model 2000, which was a major leap forward in fraud detection performance. Jim has over 35 years experience in the field of modeling: first in multi-dimensional computational fluid dynamics and radiation flow, then 12+ years experience with pattern recognition, regression and neural network modeling for bankcard and mortgage fraud detection and risk management. Jim earned his Ph.D. degree in Astrophysics from the University of California, San Diego.
